Feel free to contact Jim for speaking engagements, ministry training, or to lead music for prayer/worship. Below are some descriptions of talks and workshops Jim has given in the past.

“My sheep hear my voice; I know them, and they follow me.”
– John 10:27

Jesus taught that his disciples would readily and easily hear his voice, yet many struggle to grow in intimacy with God, perceiving Him as distant or silent. Hearing God’s Voice opens participants up to a lifestyle of intimacy with the Lord by teaching on the various “languages” God speaks in, how to discern His voice from among other voices, and the role of worship in experiencing spiritual breakthrough. More than a set of teachings, it offers interactive, hands-on experience where participants have the opportunity to put these tools into practice and receive personal guidance in understanding the unique way God speaks to them.

Kingdom Builders is founded on the conviction that God intends far greater things for us than we can even imagine, and that He wants to move in power and love to bring restoration to our world on all levels. Its aim is to help Christians step into their true identities as sons and daughters of God in Christ Jesus: powerful, confident, joyful, and free; bearers of the gospel and able to demonstrate the heart of the Father. Participants will be equipped to operate in their spiritual gifts, and empowered to demonstrate the radical love of Jesus through street ministry and in their everyday lives.

Youth Ministry Podcast – “St. Bernadette CYO” iTunes feed, featuring talks by Jim and his wife Jonna from their work as full-time coordinators of youth ministry.

Inviting the Act of Faith – Pope John Paul II defined conversion as “accepting, by a personal decision, the saving sovereignty of Christ and becoming his disciple.” This talk, and the accompanying series of articles, discusses the importance of inviting others to make this “personal decision” and how to go about making that invitation in a Catholic context.

What’s “New” about the New Evangelization? – The “new evangelization” has been the rally cry in Catholic ministry for a quarter of a century now, but what is it exactly that distinguishes it from the old – and ineffective – evangelistic mindset?

In Covenant with God – Reflections on Scott Hahn’s A Father Who Keeps His Promises. The book of Genesis uses two names for God, each associated with different aspects of God’s nature. “Elohim” is associated with an all-powerful God who is to be revered and feared, while “Yahweh” denotes the God of covenant love who invites humanity into intimacy with Himself. This talk reflects on the interaction between these two “aspects” of God in Israel’s history and in the devotional life of each believer.

Leading worship has become an increasingly integral part of my ministry. I believe that a single word from God has far more impact on people than any number of words I might stack up about Him while speaking. Music and worship provide an atmosphere where people can have that personal encounter with the Living God and be healed, transformed, and empowered through that encounter. Feel free to contact me if you are looking for a musician (guitar and vocals) for liturgies, retreats, or prayer gatherings.
